ROCK ON!!!

In life people mature, people change and times change, forcing many other things to change and most of the times we don’t like this sweep of change around us.

What all this leaves us with is a complex emotional puzzle- How to tackle this ever going change and keep ourselves happy and more than this which is that one thing which we love, love like life or even more and how to keep this love of ours intact and eternal.

Four things that have always defined a good life are- Friends, Family, Love & Work. There are very few people who have all of these at one point of time and life presents us all this challenge of having a balance among all such forces around us.

This is what ROCK ON!! is all about. Everything that life brings with itself and everything that happens to us through these transitions and exposures.

Every character has played their character in reel life as if it were real life.

I have never seen Prachi (Sakshi) with an eye other than that of a beauty admirer, but she came along too well and did all justice to her simple, loving, caring and non complaining wife’s role.
Farhan Akhtar (Aditya) deserves every possible applaud for the way he has proved himself as a true and talented artist- writer, singer, guitarist, director and now also as an actor. Lead singer of the band of four, “Magik”, he is like a guy who is just the hero of any group; every group has a hero. He gets lost in the world of Investment Banking (yes this word lights up connections with IIMs, huge sums of money, etc) making everything except money, totally missing out on his life and his wife. Arjun Rampal (Joe) delivers his second good performance of the year and second best of his life, energized by OSO, as lead guitarist of Magik- mercurial, passionate and a totally emotional guy who knows only about the strings and is purely unworldly but always supported by his wife, Shabana Goswami (Debby), who aspired to be a fashion designer and ended up running Joe’s family business of fish selling, supporting her family. She has acted like anything.
Purab Kohli (KD) is a drummer with a rich father and is the funniest guy among all, who becomes a Gujju look alike, entering his father’s business, following the fallout of Magik. He flirts beautifully with Prachi’s friend, Koel Puri (Devika), and their eye clashes are just too charming.

Most of the iconic bands have had their piece of tragic stories associated with them and this was added by the keyboard player of Magik, Luke Kenny (Rob), who continues playing for others including Annu Malik after the band’s fallout and his only wish being again playing with Magik. He dies of cancer towards the end of the Magik called Rock On and living his dream.

Watch this movie for how MAGIK began, ended and then RE BEGIN.

In life, always keep a RESTART switch on.

Right now I am in a similar sort of state in life, so felt very much connected with the movie, though it’s a different thing that I don’t have love and work going my in way as of now. But this is a sweet message, beautifully conveyed in Rock On, that what may come don’t give up on your best things just because life is giving you some shit.

Keep Rocking and living and loving life and the loveable ones.
And if you know a reason for which you can die, then live for it.

LIVE YOUR DREAM!!!
